Annual Summer Camp
Spirit Aviation is a central Mississippi professional flight training facility, which offers professional pilot training. At this time, we would like to extend our services by offering an Aviation Summer Camp to the youth in our community.
Sessions being offered are as follows:
- Session 1: June 5-7
- Session 2: June 12-14
- Session 3: June 18-21
Class times will be from 10am – 3pm.
Ages: - 13 years and upwards.
Activities
- Discovering aviation careers. – This workshop will allow the students to see the many career opportunities offered in the aviation industries.
- Discovery Flight. – This workshop allows the student with supervision from one of our certified flight instructors the chance to experience flight in our aircraft.
- Navigation. – This workshop allows becoming familiar with the purpose of pre-flight planning and types of navigation used in piloting aircraft.
- Weather. – This workshop stresses the importance of weather while operating in the flight environment.
- Aviation field trip – This trip will allow the student to experience Air Traffic Control tower and approach facilities as they work with aircrews and airport operations.
- Exploring aircraft systems – This workshop allows the student to understand the different systems related to aircraft design.
- Aerodynamics – This workshop will help the student understand the science behind what makes an aircraft fly.
- Lunch Break – Time to associate and meet your neighbor.
Cost
The fee for Aviation Summer Camp is $350 per session and will include all Activities, a Certificate of Completion, Pilot Logbook, T-shirt, and meals.
